where in the world have we been!!

Well I can tell you we have not been on vacation.  Sorry for the long delay in updating our blog.  For the last couple of weeks Ginger had a severe headache.  After a day it went from a migraine to a constant somewhat managable headache.  We talked to our doctor and he prescribed some medicine which helped a little but not enough.  He eventually sent us to a neurologist who ended up prescribing some other medicine he felt would help her better.  Anyway after taking a few of these pills her head started to pound worse than ever before.  I ended up taking her to the ER here in Sanford late last night.  So after a very late night and lots of drugs to help with the pain we went home early this morning.  She still has a headache but it is not near as painful as it has been.  This coming Tuesday we go to have a MRI done.  Please be praying for Ging as she is still dealing with the constant pain of this headache.  Pray also for the doctors to be able to find out what in the world is going on and what they can do to help her.  Thank you.

Here are some pics from some different events that I just have not been able to get posted lately.

bike ride

A few days ago we took a morning and went on a awesome bike ride.  There are so many wonderful bike trails around here.  We looked at the map at the beginning of the trail and to our destination it said it was 1.6 miles.  We’ll we started on our way and all went well.  On the way back Madison was saying she was tired and couldn’t keep going, so I tied a rope from my bike to hers and would give her a pull every once in a while to keep her going.  Anyway, by the time we got back and checked our odometer we had actually went almost 6 miles!!  What a work out!!

Here are the three very happy but very tired bikers.  We may need to give our weary bodies a rest before we attempt this again!

Thanksgiving at school

Maddison’s school had a thanksgiving meal for the school kids and their family.  Leading up to this the kids in class were making indian hats.  The teacher then would give the kids feathers for their hats each day for various things.  At home we also were making an indian dress.  I don’t think we will be going into fashion design anytime soon, but we had fun nevertheless.

It’s Pumkin Time!

Well last night Russ dove into carving our pumkin!  Madison decided that this year she wanted a scary looking pumkin!  So, they found a picture that she liked and went from there!  Russ had a little trouble because being the carpenter that he is; he said he did not have the right tools for the job!  I think he just wants to buy this cool pumkin carving drill that he saw!!  It turned out so cool and I think one of Maddie’s highlights was roasting the pumkin seeds! She said they tasted like popcorn!  All in all it was a fun family night!

Madison rides in the tour de France

Yep, that is right.  Maddie was in The Race.  It was actually a bike-a-thon that was happening at her school.  Her school was helping to raise money for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for cancer research.  So Madison went around and pulled on the heart strings of her grandparents and close relatives to donate towards the event.  We all had a wonderful time watching all the kids ride their bikes round and around.  I (Russ) was especially thrilled to see Madison lap almost every other kid on her bike.  I know it wasn’t a race but my competitive side came out and I couldn’t help but want her to win.  All in all the kids had fun and it was a huge success.

Madison in Awana

We have started to get involved in a local church to get Madison in Awana.  For those not familiar with Awana, it is a club were the theme is to reach boys and girls with the gospel.   Madison has absolutley loved being involved.  The name of her group is Cubbies.  The other night she said some verses that enabled her to get her cubbies vest and book.   She loves memorizing verses!  Please be in prayer for us as we work every week with these children from all over Sanford!
